No. It outlines multiple-choice answers without clicking them and types free-response text without submitting. Selecting and submitting are always your actions.

What Copilot does

The recommended multiple-choice option is highlighted on the page. Selecting it is your action, so a wrong suggestion costs you nothing.
Types free-response answers
Short answers, numbers, and equation-editor expressions are entered in the format the field expects — then left there for you to check.
Shows a confidence level
Every answer reports high, medium, or low confidence. Low confidence is a flag to check the reasoning rather than trust the result.
Never submits or advances
Copilot has no path to the submit or next button. Moving on is always a decision you make.

Why type free-response answers but not click choices?
A typed answer, especially in an equation editor, is tedious and error-prone to transcribe by hand and is trivially editable once entered. Clicking a choice is a single action you may as well make yourself, and leaving it to you means a wrong suggestion never lands on your attempt.
How much explanation does it give?
One short sentence of reasoning plus a confidence level, not a full worked solution. It is enough to sanity-check an answer, not a tutor walking through the method.
What if it gets the question wrong?
That is what Copilot is for — you see the answer and reasoning before anything is committed, so you can ignore it. It also flags low confidence when unsure.
